Küsnacht Project: Flammkraft Block D Perfectly Built In

In Küsnacht, the outdoor kitchen sits where the house opens towards the lake: on a covered wooden terrace, behind large expanses of glass, with a view across Lake Zurich. The kitchen runs calmly along the façade. Light fronts and a light worktop pick up the tone of the architecture rather than standing in front of the view.

At its centre is the Flammkraft Block D gas grill. It is built flush into the worktop: nothing protrudes, nothing looks tacked on. Closed, it reads as a clean stainless-steel body with a wooden handle; opened, it reveals a generous cooking grate. Next to it, a Gozney pizza oven stands on the worktop, so pizza and grilled food are made side by side on the same evening. The gas cylinder disappears into the cabinet below the grill, along with everything else that would otherwise clutter the terrace.

The dining table is just a few steps away. Anyone at the grill stays part of the group instead of disappearing into the kitchen. The terrace becomes a place where people cook, eat and stay seated for a long time. Planning something similar for your outdoor space? We would be glad to show you what is possible for you.
