Something happens when people gather outside. The air feels lighter, conversations linger, and time slows down. Those are the moments we care about. Theiss exists to make them effortless. We design for real life, so your outdoor space feels natural, inviting, and built for connection.

For years, our family worked in the outdoor living space, helping people create places that made life outside feel easy and natural. That experience, starting in the 1990s, showed us what really matters once a product leaves our hands, strength, simplicity, and long-lasting use. But we never found a concept that truly brought it all together: stainless steel for real robustness, ceramic fronts for timeless design, and a structure built to be both sustainable and solid. So we decided to create it ourselves. Our first kitchen was completed in March 2022, before Theiss even had a name. Less than a year later, in February 2023, the Theiss range came to life.

Every Theiss kitchen is shaped by a balance of precision and craft. Our production runs across selected European sites where technology and skilled craftsmanship work side by side. Industry 4.0 systems bring accuracy and repeatability, while human expertise ensures the right touch and finish.
We use high-quality, traceable materials and refined methods to achieve consistency and flexibility at scale. Each piece is made to perform outdoors, season after season, while keeping the simplicity and strength that define Theiss.

Every kitchen tells a story of craftsmanship, responsibility, and a love for lasting materials. Theiss stands for values that endure, for design that doesn’t fade, and for quality that convinces not just today but for years to come.

Theiss takes its name from the founder’s South-Tyrolean family heritage. It’s a name that carries more than identity, it reflects a way of living shaped by the outdoors. Growing up surrounded by mountains and the desire to enjoy nature, there was always an appreciation for high-performing materials that could handle the harsh conditions of the region. That mindset continues to guide us today: outdoor living should feel just as thoughtful, comfortable, and lasting as life indoors.
The journey began within the Tiso family business, where years of experience in outdoor living laid the groundwork for something of our own. By January 2023, Theiss had become independent, ready to move forward with its own vision. The name first appeared in June 2022, marking the start of a brand built on family roots, honest materials, and a love for time spent outside. What began as part of a family story has grown into a commitment to design that fits real life, shaped by nature, made to last.

A story shaped by place, family, and the drive to build better, from alpine roots to modern outdoor living.

During the Italianization period of South Tyrol, the family name Theiss is adapted to the Italian form Tiso. The place stays the same, but the spelling changes, a quiet shift that links two cultures and continues the family line.

The family begins working in outdoor living, curating and selling outdoor-living experiences. Those years bring hands-on knowledge of what lasts, what fails, and what truly works outside.

The first own made kitchen built by the us leaves the workshop. It is a small but proud moment that plants the seed for Theiss.

The family name returns, this time as a brand. Theiss reconnects to its South-Tyrolean roots and begins shaping a new identity built around design and real-world usability.

Theiss separates from the family early company to work independently. With that freedom comes full creative control over every detail, from concept to production.

Theiss releases its latest catalogue, a reflection of continuous learning, thoughtful design, and real-world feedback from outdoor spaces across Europe.

Theiss presents its outdoor-kitchen range at Giardina 2025 (12-16 March 2025, Zurich). It marks our step into a larger trade-show arena and places our design, materials and modular systems directly in front of a design-savvy, outdoor-living audience.
